Social Media Marketing
The Mennonite Central Committee is a global, non-profit organization that strives to bring relief, development, and peace to over 55 countries around the world. During my role as a Marketing Specialist, I supported 7 thrift stores across Ontario using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
Design Challenge:
Thrifting is very successful among younger demographics. Many young adults (18-35) are not aware of MCC Thrift and the MCC Ontario programs. My objective was to establish a long-term marketing plan for attracting new target markets, developing media schedules, and bringing awareness to local impact stories.
Client: Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
Role: Social Media Manager, Marketing Specialist
Activities: Designer, Market Researcher, Trainer, Video Editor
Outcomes:
1. Modified visual and writing elements to ensure consistency in brand attributes.
2. Increased client engagement by 40% through paid and organic content strategy.
MCC Branding Guidelines: Voice that is diverse, community-focused, faithful, compassionate.
Connecting with the Public
During media development, I focused on executing successful contests, highlighting the environmental benefits of shopping second-hand, and ensuring visual identity across platforms.

Product Marketing
I interviewed various staff and volunteers to develop people-focused stories and educate the public on MCC non-profit programs. I was also in charge of hosting social media training for staff with limited technical comfort.
